Biology
Biology courses at Class.com are an exploration of the scientific inquiry and biological concepts through engaging, interactive curriculum. The courses are written to be accessible and contextualized and to integrate numerous multimedia lab exercises and writing assignments.
Biology 1A
In Biology 1A, the first semester of a year-long biology course, students retrace Charles Darwin's famous voyage to the Galapagos Islands while learning how science is used daily to answer questions about life. Students learn basic biology concepts such as the scientific method, characteristics of life, chemistry, cell biology, photosynthesis, mitosis and meiosis, genetics, DNA, evolution, and classification.

Biology 1B
In the second semester students focus on biological diversity—including viruses, bacteria, protists, fungi, plants, and animals. Students take a close look at the characteristics, behavior, and physiology of a wide variety of organisms, and learn about the basic principles of ecology, which is the study of the interactions of organisms with each other and with their environments, and the consequences of these interactions.
